What materials is TruFlat plywood made of?
TruFlat® is a proprietary process of layering engineered faux wood faces onto both sides of a MDF core sheet. The designer faux wood faces are created through a 6 step painting process to simulate a real wood grain look. The core is made of a defect free standard MDF (medium-density fiberboard) which allows for easy cutting with a laser, CNC router or scroll saw. TruFlat is always sold double sided, so no worries on which side is front or back. TruFlat is not a veneer or laminate material.

Is TruFlat safe to use?
Absolutely! TruFlat should be handled the same as MDF, plywood, and acrylic normally would. When working with any of these materials, it’s important to operate in a well-ventilated space and utilize a dust collector and fume extraction system to ensure a safe working environment. TruFlat items are non-stainable due to the sublimation coating.
IMPORTANT: Once you are done sublimating the truflat sheet, be sure to place something heavy, such as a book, on top of the sheet to make sure the sheet does not warp.
