Should I Use PPE? Also What is PPE?

  1. Remember, all Epoxy is different, so read the labels and determine what steps should be taken, the below advice is specifically intended for Flopoxy.
  2. We advise using a Respirator to protect your lungs.
  3. Craft in a well ventilated room to protect yourself and others.
  4. Use gloves!  It is important to not expose your lungs or limbs to Epoxy.
  5. Use Safety Eye Goggles, it is important to keep your eyes and face protected from the epoxy.
  6. Lastly, wear your MakerFlo Apron to protect your clothes.

(Constant exposure can cause reactions to your skin or may make you allergic to the epoxy)

Can I put a glitter tumbler in the dishwasher? 

Can I put a glitter tumbler in the dishwasher? 

Eeek - nope. The heat of a dishwasher is abrasive and will cause the Epoxy to deteriorate it over time. Glitter tumblers are to be hand-washed only!

Can I put a glitter tumbler in a microwave?

Definitely not. Don’t forget that they are made of stainless steel, and metals don’t mix well with microwaves!

What's Humidity Got to do with it?

What's Humidity Got to do with it?

Make sure the epoxy and the environment are as dry as possible when using the epoxy. Humidity levels below 65% are recommended. Storing the epoxy or working with the epoxy in a humid environment may cause inconsistent results with curing due to moisture entering the mixture. (Again, all epoxies are different, be sure to check the individual specs of the one you're using)

How Do I Mix It?

Every Epoxy is different, like a beautiful snowflake, so read the manufacturer directions for your Epoxy. For our MakerFlo Flopoxy, we recommend stirring for 3-4 minutes thoroughly, not vigorously. The faster you mix this Epoxy, the more micro bubbles you'll form.

  2. Mica powder
  3. Glitter
  4. Gold leaf
  5. Pressed or artificial flowers
  6. Vinyl stickers
  7. Alcohol inks
  8. Beads and similar accessories

What are the specs for Flopoxy?

What are the specs for Flopoxy?

  • Ideal Curing Temp: 65-80 F
  • Mixing Time: Approximately 3-4 minutes
  • Working Time: 15 minutes
  • Dry-to-touch: 2.5-4 hours
  • Full Cure: 24 hrs
  • Heat Tolerance: 500 Degrees Fahrenheit
  • Maximum recommended coating thickness: 1/8”
  • Maximum recommended casting thickness: ½” – even ¾” as long as total mass of pour is small
  • Shore D Hardness: 80D
