Which sublimation printer is best for making tumblers & drinkware?
For tumblers, drinkware, pens, ornaments, keychains, and pouches, the Epson F170 is our top-selling sublimation printer. It prints up to 8.5” x 14”, which is large enough to print full wrap transfers on most MakerFlo sublimation tumblers and all MakerFlo sublimation flat blanks.

Which printer is best for sublimating apparel?
While the F170 can print sizes up to 8.5" x 14", allowing you to sublimate apparel in many ways, a maximum 8.5” x 14” transfer may create limitations when fulfilling customer orders for oversized apparel or designs that require larger prints (up to 14” x 16”) or “all-over” printed apparel.
For apparel, a larger format printer like the F570 Lite or F570 Pro is the preferred choice, offering full-service printing options. With a maximum print width of 24” when printing onto paper rolls, the F570 allows crafters and small businesses to offer a wider range of custom items, including drinkware, apparel, home decor (such as 20”-24” pillowcases, table runners, and placemats), and signs, flags, and banners for local businesses and organizations.

What is a large format sublimation printer?
A large format printer prints large designs for sublimating larger items to include banners, art prints, oversized apparel and more.
Both the Epson F570 Lite and Epson F570 Pro are considered large format printers, offering a print width of up to 24" wide. When printing on to rolls, your designs can be 24" wide and 36" to 48" long, depending on the length of your roll.
To maintain print quality at a larger scale, both F570 printers print at a resolution of 1200x2400 dpi.
Additionally, the F570 Pro comes with advanced Epson Edge Print Pro software giving users greater control over color accuracy and print quality.

What's the difference between the F570 Lite and the F570 Pro?
The main difference between the F570 Lite and the F570 Pro is the software included with each printer.
Both are large format printers that print designs at 1200 x 2400 dpi and up to 24" wide. However, the Pro model comes with Epson Edge Print Pro, which offers advanced settings for print quality control, color accuracy, and the ability to connect multiple computers.
In contrast, the F570 Lite provides standard print settings for large transfers.
The F570 Pro's advanced features make it the better choice for professional print shops working with brands or producing intricate designs. Meanwhile, hobbyists and crafters may appreciate the lower price, simpler setup and standard printing options available with the F570 Lite.
Additionally, the F570 Pro comes with 2 sets of ink and 3 rolls of paper, while the F570 Lite comes with 1 set of ink, 3 packs of MakerFlo Sub paper and 2 rolls of heat tape.
What heating equipment will I need?
For sublimating tumblers, drinkware, or other cylindrical items, you can use a mug press or a sublimation convection oven. The MakerFlo 40L Sublimation Oven can evenly bake up to twelve 20oz skinny tumblers at once, speeding up large order fulfillment!
For flat items like wind spinners, pouches, tags, and coasters, you'll need a heat press. MakerFlo offers a Mini Sublimation Heat Press with a 5” x 7” heat plate designed for smaller craft items, currently available for $65.00.
For larger items such as apparel, home decor, banners, and signs, a larger heat press is necessary. A standard size of 16” x 20” works for many items, but depending on your transfer or blank size, you may need an even bigger heat press.
